“I was one that went through the organ camp this last summer. It was a great experience! It gave me the opportunity to meet several instructors and try a few impressively beautiful organs. This camp and the lessons that followed have taught me much about the organ, to the point that I am now playing at a couple churches already. I am very grateful to Bob Houskamp and all he’s done to make this possible.”

“Bob Houskamp’s Organ Program catapulted me into a new field of study that I would have never previously considered. Thanks to his concept and generosity I continued organ lessons and now study at Hope College having earned a significant scholarship for organ. Some of the music Bob purchased is still being used in my lessons at Hope, and I am continuing to hone the skills that I first learned in the program. This program truly has the power to change the paths of musicians, and I hope to see it continue for a long time!”

“In the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Summer Organ Event. I had played piano my entire life, and it seemed like a good opportunity to try out a new instrument. Over the course of three weeks I was able to play on a variety of organs in different churches, meet several fine organists, and learn a good deal of valuable information about the instrument and how to play it. The program was intense due to the large amount of information packed into three weeks, but so worth it!! A highlight was the last day, where we had the opportunity to perform something we learned over the three weeks of lessons, listen to a performance by one of the best organists in the Grand Rapids area, and we even got to go back behind the pipes and see the inner workings of the organ.
This program also led me to an opportunity to take organ lessons for several months following, for which I am very thankful. This is a skill that I will be able to take with me for the rest of my life, and I am grateful to Bob Houskamp for making this fantastic opportunity available to students!”
